What is Respite Care?

Respite care Is temporary care designed to provide relief for the normal caregiver.  We know caregivers come in all different forms. Whether it’s a family member or a close personal friend everyone needs a break. Respite care is designed as a family support system and can be used in times of emergency as well.

Who Can Use Respite Care?

Anyone who is disable, ill, or otherwise incapacitated for an extended period of time. Some examples would be people who suffer from: 

  • Cancer
  • A brain injury
  • Alzheimer’s disease or dementia
  • A stroke
  • Blindness
  • Paralysis 
  • Mental Disabilities
  • Old Age
  • Trouble with mobility
  • Needing transitioning care
  • Caregiver Burnout

How Long Can I Use Respite Care?

Respite care can be as long or as short as you need it to be you can set up respite care for a few hours a day or an entire day, It can be every week or every other week. If you want to go on a vacation, who doesn’t, but feel tied down this is a great time for respite care. We work closely with you to assist you with your needs and your financial situation.

What Services Do You Provide?

Our highly trained staff can assist you with all non-medical needs. Some services we commonly provide:

  • Bathing including bed bath or sponge bath, shower assistance, hair care, 
  • Hygiene including dressing, grooming, skin care
  • Toiletry and perineal care including: Urinal, catheter, bedpan, commode and adult briefs disposal and sanitation
  • Ambulation and range-of-motion exercises
  • Oral hygiene including teeth, dental, and denture care

How does respite care work?

Respite care is tailored to your individual needs. Once you call us we will set up a meeting with you. In this meeting we will discuss your needs and the needs of your loved ones. We will come up with a care plan together that you feel comfortable with.

How quickly can I get respite care?

Unfortunately, this is a difficult question to answer because the answer depends on how much assistance you need.
